Description
The Dry Sea....one hell of a place to start a war. This week will be my fouth year out here, I'm hardly ever out of this suit, it's practically become a part of my body. Although I can't complain, this thing keeps me alive, it hydrates my body and filters the air to make it breatheable. The air here is so hot that one breath will burn your lungs to nothing in a few minutes. The only time we get to take these off is at night when the air is cool enough to breathe, hopefully I'll be stationed to another planet soon as there's not even a remote chance of going home with the way things are...

Your best yet in my opinion. I wonder if Brett sympathises with this man?

The only real thing that stands out to me are the clouds and sky as they lack the any color/tonal variation that is so well done in the figure. 'White' clouds and 'Blue' sky seems so....typical. The texturing on the figure is great, and the overall design gives me a Half LIfe 2 vibe.
Just a little FYI, the desert sky...at least what I've seen in Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq is not always so blue...sometimes it's a harsh light yellow/gray, I guess a result of the dust in the air refracting light or some other science crap I have no idea how to explain.

Well I think that the armor...as long as it's cooling systems work, would be cool to have.
Oh, and it has to make snowcones too.

Very nice piece of concept work. This looks just like the gear m'friend! Very, very kewl indeed. The 3D effect is impressive, as is your overall palette. Good strong definition in the whole presentation.
Well done m'friend!

your *man/robot/military man I don't know what to call it* you painted is pretty cool
you should experiment with textures on the metal and more shadows here and there...
unless the sun is shinning directly on him... I guess it would be lighter
its very nice work... very cool
you did very well
also if this is a H2H that info should be under your description. but I guess as a comment its cool
PS juro cool blog love tuts!

But as BaronImpossible says, the clouds caught my attention as the edges are too crispy.

On the other hand, the hard edges on the clouds block that same effect. Do maybe you should soften them. Actually, all the crits that are worth mentioning have allready been mentioned.
All in all: Good job, mr wet pantstain.

I do think the edges of the clouds could be softened a little.Maybe you could also change the texture of the gun, since it looks a little too similar to everything else, just to change it up a little. The final thing would be to have his wrist come down more straight with a little more width.Keep plowin ahead man.^__^

You know, I'm not a painter, but this work seems to me very well done!
I like the texturing work and the armor! Maybe the clouds need some more work....well done!

only thing that maks the paintnig less atractive (and it is verrrry atractive) is the m16, it lokos a bit like a toy.. you should give metal texture to it.. some scratches maybe... scratched paint.... itll look awsom

I, too, thought it was 3D from the thumbnail.
I really like the angle too.

and a very nice discription! enjoyed the reading...
guess it's been said about a hundret times within the last 47 posts
but i think the clouds dont work.
they are very far in the bg so they have to blurred...
and maybe another arrangement of them would improve the composition.
but "cool"
and it's always nice to see how artists work...
